Welcome to Fedcap's Words About Work!® 2010 Call for Submissions
All New Yorkers Encouraged to Reflect on What Work Means to Them and
Win $500!
Work makes a difference in all of our lives. It provides independence, dignity, income, a sense of self-worth and accomplishment, a purpose. And it should never be taken for granted.
Fedcap's 10th annual Words about Work!® is now open to the public! Fedcap is currently calling for submissions from anyone who wishes to write a poem or essay that articulates just how work gives their lives positive meaning. Winners recieve $500 and are judged by an independent panel of poets and authors. Previous winners have written about how their jobs have brought greater independence, dignity, self-respect, and confidence.
Fedcap’s Words about Work!® celebration and poetry slam will take place on Sunday, April 25 at Manhattan’s Bowery Poetry Club, in collaboration with the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and National Poetry Month.
To enter, print out a contest entry form and send it to Fedcap with an original signature by March 15.
